And from the Good Book
Read Matthew 24 v 36
Beware of any effort to pin a date or time on
prophetic events as it relates to the return of Christ
and eschatology. There is only one who knows dates and times
and He has revealed them to no one. Watch instead for the signs then
in love and expectancy await the unfolding of events.
And watch out for false prophets(often referred to as wolves in sheeps clothing).
Deception is one of the signs to watch for-watch that others not
deceive you.

So Far Away
***
It seems so far away
This land that I prefer
This land lies North of Idaho
The place to which I refer.
***
It takes in all Alaska
And Canada's lonely North
I pause here to dream a bit
Of the day I go forth
***
When I finally up and sieze my dream
When I venture beyond my turf
When I up and leave my nest
And take a measure of my worth
***
There is something about this land
That can test the insides of a man
To see what you are made of
Whether you can do what few others can
***
It's more than cold and beauty
Although it has that and more
It can change you from the inside-out
And make you better than before.
***
It humbles and gives perspective
When you gaze upon it's scene
It turns you from selfish service
And makes you more serene
***
And as you contemplate it's maker
And scan it's breadth and height.
It brings you closer to the Lord
Who created all in sight.
***
From the shore of the mighty Yukon
To some lonely Arctic beach
The land speaks aloud a sermon
Better than any man can preach
***
It testifies to the greater God
It magnifies His power.
For when the Master made the Northland
It was His finest hour.
***
Amen

This one is great.

Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell is well worth the time spent reading it. It is difficult to put it down once you start reading it. We must get to know our military heroes, Petty Officer Luttrell is every bit of one. A Navy Seal, PO1 Luttrell, was the sole survivor of a mission into the Afghan mountains. He speaks freely of his faith that sustained him. If you get nothing out of this book but this-it is time well invested-
1) God proved his presence time and time again in sparing this man from a horrible fate.
2) When our nation sends our warriors into combat, we must not tie their hands with rediculous rules of engagement. The enemy we face today does not play by rules and has nothing but
disdain for the fact that we do so. Those rules may have caused some good sailors to die up there in those Afghan mountains.
Thank you Petty Officer Luttrell for your service. Hooyah Marcus Luttell!

Current Read- "Blue Water Sailor" by Don Sheppard

An excellent book from a destroyerman. The things I missed out on in the Phillipines and on those Westpac cruises.
